WW2 Italian Tanks

There is not a lot written about Italian tanks in WW2. What little armor they had was used mostly in North Africa, where Rommel's tanks overshadowed everyone - the British, US and Italy. Most of the Italian tanks were too small, underarmed and lacked adequate protection. They were not reliable. Italian tank design started to catch up with the Germans, but by 1943, they were out of the war.

This In Action book covers the development of the medium tank in Italy- what most armies considered light tanks at 15 tons. The book has many excellent B&W photos of each tank, line drawings to show the differences & development and 2 pages of color plates to show the paint schemes.

This is an excellent book to fill a void in the use & history of Italian armor. For the record, many Italians served with honor, distinction and bravery in Africa - when properly led. Rommel could not have achieved all that he did without his Italian allies, and yes, even Italian tanks. Very interesting reading on an overlooked topic.

Heartwarming lecture

Let me start by saying that I'm not in the medical field, but I enjoyed this reading very much. This book is a sincere narration of the experiences that the author lived during his long career. Rather taking credit for all of his success (which is quite impresive), Dr Pena describes in a very humbling way his gratitude for the people that has helped him during the years, and his admiration for the parents of his patients who will go above and beyond anything for their children. Using a series of short stories, Dr Pena shows a very human side of the medical field.

When I closed the book at the end, there was a tear on the corner of my eye and a smile on my face.

modern medicine... the old fashioned way

I phoned Dr. Pena's office a few weeks ago to ask a question about my daughter. (I had quadruplets in1991) Not about the daughter he had operated on two decades ago, but her sister. Dr. Pena himself answered the phone and immediately recognized our family. We spoke for 20 minutes; catching up first then discussing the reason for my call. It is the type of man he is. The book is his voice; passionate and frank. I'm thrilled I heard his voice in my head as I read it. Dr. Pena was one of the first surgeons we worked with and set the standard for how I determined how to select all doctors afterwards. You may think it's written simply, but you will find it touches every level of your life.

An excellent book from a quality human being!

I bought this book after Dr. Pena helped a family member. I traveled from Pennsylvania to his clinic to benefit from his expertise! His care changed our family's life. A true angel and scholar! When I became aware that he wrote a book I wanted to read it! As an advanced practice nurse and a mother, I continue to be impressed with this man's grace. Beautiful book....inspirational and lovely! If you are interested in how a true physician thinks and moves buy this book, read it, and be moved! A true gem of a doctor!

Karen had written off men and to her utter amazement she is attracted to Vic's very handsome and sexy ..younger brother. Surrounded by her friends she feels like a loser and it's so far from the truth. She just hasn't found the right man. To complicate matters , he has a smoking hot ex and she had reset her sights on Mario. How can she compete, she is just the older crazy lady with the only thing going for her is her cat. Mario, sexy handsome successful and has not had the best luck with woman. And one of his sister's best friends seems to have gained his attention. Completely by accident. She is everything he has wanted but her insecurities with her age is what is the obstacle. Can he get her to see what he sees and he will have to put his ex in her place, when she tries to intervene and muck up the budding new relationship. It's up to Mario to put his foot down. Bria Marche has a sensational book series of love,laughter and a fabulous bouquet of merlot. This is a series I would recommend to anyone looking for the unexpectedly beautiful romantic comedy of friends and wine. Gave the series 5 stars of outstanding writing and character development!

It's all here

Skyrim introduced me to the Xbox. Can you believe that? I am a 57-year-old man in a professional job that takes a LOT of time and results in a lot of stress to dissipate. For Christmas 2011, my wife and son gave me an Xbox. It was my first console since a Colecovision in the mid-80s. I received Skyrim with the console and used my Christmas 2011 vacation to set up the box and began playing...for 14 months!! Truly, I didn't unwrap the other games (Arkham Asylum, Gears of War, Call of Duty) for more than a year. Since then, I've played the DLC Bethseda added and decided to come back to Skyrim for one good, long run before the new hardware is delivered in November and Elder Scrolls Online is released. This guide is fantastic. It is the gold standard. Publishers and their editors should use it as a reference when developing all other guides. It is as complete as one could want, easy to traverse, AND--best of all--it has an INDEX. Two, in fact. A general index and a quest index. Skyrim is the biggest and best open-world game available at the moment. It deserves a guide of matching quality and this is it.

Beautiful.

You could beat a dragon's skull in with this guide.

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Collectors Edition: Prima Official Game Guide is immaculate. Meticulously detailed maps, thorough, well-written quest guides both comprehensive and clear, and every item, vendor, and trainer location in the game have been sewn in to this masterfully rendered tome.

The details of what comes with this guide are on the page, so an in-depth analysis would be both tedious and unnecessary.

I have owned the guides for most of my RPGs including Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas as well as Mass Effect, Mass Effect II, Fable II and Fable III. This one is the best out of them all.

This guide took 2000 hours for Prima to complete, and it shows. If you want the most out of this game, if you want explore every nook and cranny, this guide is the perfect companion.

For those of you who might be worried, this hard-cover guide is made to last. A Harry Potter book probably isn't as tough-looking as this.

My only complaint, and this is an infinitesimally small one, is that the physical map that comes with the guide is connected to the guide itself (which is typical of almost every guide I have ever owned) and must be torn out. This very often (at least for yours truly) results in the edges of the map being torn. However, Prima makes up for this issue raises the bar of game guides by including a code to an online interactive map which may be accessed from any computer.

This is a beautiful, well-written, long-lasting and vast guide that is perfect for a game vast enough to call for it.

THE WORLD EATER IN THE LAND OF ALL STRATEGY GUIDES

This strategy guide is, without a shadow of a doubt, the thickest, the heaviest and the most detailed strategy guide the world has ever seen.

The original Skyrim guide was already massive with 656 pages of contents jam-packed with details on the papers only the scopes of games like Skyrim can fill. However, the new Legendary Collector's Edition Prima Official Game Guide has, get this, whopping 1120 pages of contents expanded accordingly to the addition of the newly added contents from 3 Official Add-ons Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn.

The book was delivered for free in very speedy one day by USPS (pre-order special) in the usual Amazon cardboard box.

Inside the box, this massive tome was thick, double shrink-wrapped with cardboard slightly bigger than the book itself, giving extra protection from any possible damage collectors would just scream from the top of their heads.

The Collector's Edition Guide comes with a free code for access to the bonus eGuide, fully interactive online guide that would normally cost $26, at Prima Games website and nice exclusive 24" panoramic poster showing the entirety of Alduin's Wall and signatures from the members of Bethesda Game Studios.

It also has hardcover bound and ribbon bookmarks to give you extra quality.

Otherwise the regular edition and the collector's edition are identical in the number of pages and contents, and both comes with a two-sided map of Skyrim.

While the quality of the paper used for the original guide was excellent, the quality of the new Legendary Edition Guide is slightly different, has even more glossy and smoother feel, more like Fallout 3 GotY Collector's Edition Guide than how the original collector's edition guide was.

The quality of the hardbound covers is on par with the original collector's edition guide, thick and smooth, but I think the book could have used even thicker cover since the book has over 450 extra pages from the original guide.

The style, layouts and the contents are identical from the original guide but with the newly added contents from 3 add-ons.

The book also has index at the end of the book so you can easily find contents.

Not only would Dovahkiin level up all his vital skills at 100 if he acquires this ridiculously massive tome, but he might do just fine if he uses this as shield or even heavy weapon.

Some might complain about the steep price tag of $50 ($32 and change at Amazon), but you'll be hard-pressed to find a hardbound book with over 1100 pages of glossy papers that would cost any less, so if you are a huge fan of Skyrim, this book is a nice memorabilia for you to sit back, relax with and reminisce of the journey you have embarked on in the land of Skyrim.

As much of the books in the Problems in European Civilization Series, this book is great for people who have gone through history classes wishing to understand a period, aspect or event in history better.

This book deals with many of the major theories on the cause of european imperialism and why it is that it ultimately failed (there are even writings from Lenin and Ghandi in this book on the subject of imperialism). One of the most interesting things I learned about European imperialism is that the europeans taught their colonial subjects about their own struggles for independence, rights and representative government, inadvertantly planting and watering the seeds of colonial independence. They even have a section where a native of the dutch colony of indonesia (who was interested in Indonesian independence) wrote to and lectured the Dutch colonial authorities about this very thing.

Seeing Lenin's view of imperialism was interesting, although it was easy to see how misguided the man was thinking there would be a transition from european imperialism to world-wide communism. It was also interesting to read Ghandi's view on imperialism (he thought european imperialism was successful in great measure because the people of Indian wanted the wealth, goods and technology the British had to offer and would be independent as soon as India as a nation wanted independence... and then there were Ghandi's own luddite views on technology and independence.

All and all this book is work buying and going over repeatedly.
