Childhood reviving

Each and everyone of us have a different story about our childhood, some kids where firemen, other where cops and, since I'm a 1980 guy, several of the kid of my generation wanted to be a Ghostbuster.

I wanted to be a Spaceman, and I wanted to be a Space because of Steven Caldwell.

pretty good, but not the best.

Stewart cowley (Steven Caldwell) has written quite a few books of this theme. (The TTA handbook, and the Galactic encounters series) the art is well done, and the story surrounding the art is well written. It isn't the best of his books, but it is fun to read.

But does feel like a game source book for some kind of table top role playing game. The book gives you the structure of the Space Patrol with a minimum of information and a few examples. It explains training, different branches of the Space Patrol, such as the Seaforce vs. Maxsef (Maximum Security Forces), along with examples of Patrol history, problem planets, and major criminals. Great guide to knowing your Street Fighters

There are lots of interesting information on each character, such as their origins, allies, enemies, fighting styles, things they like or dislike, and the games they appear in.

In terms of the level of depth, it's not as detailed as what you'll get from wikia pages of course. Each character in the book is presented with a one page profile and a full-page illustration on the other. The beautiful artworks would be one of the main highlights for the book. It's also more convenient to have all the characters compiled neatly (alphabetically) in one book.

In addition to the main fighting characters, the side characters are also included, but with only face cuts and shorter profiles. Nevertheless, it's still quite interesting to see how inter-related the relationships are between the different characters in the Street Fighter universe.

Recommended to Street Fighter fans.

Amazing. This enciclopedia is even better than the first one. Has a nice touch with the 2D sprite for every character in this book. It is up to date to USFIV. I think Udon will make a new version since now we have SFV. I thing that they could do it better with some images like Balrog and Sagat but iy is just my point of view.

Excellent resource for SF fans. It has all SF characters to this date with detailed character bios, their relationships with other members of the cast, and nice artwork. Artwork and information is updated from the previous version and is more visually appealing. No EX characters included, only characters from the official titles are included. All NPCs are also represented. I hope they continue to update it as we get new SF games.

It is a portrait of a strong-minded young girl who liked to play by herself, dress differently from her sisters, and let her black hair fly when others wore braids. And it is the portrait of an artist who lived to be 98 years old, letting the world see things as she saw them through her remarkable paintings. This small book--with sparse, carefully chosen prose--traces O'Keeffe's life through her schooling in Chicago and New York, and her first trek to Texas: "And I painted the sunset and the sky and the wonderful loneliness and emptiness of the place. Kindergarten-Grade 3-This admirable book gives readers a peek at the beginnings and inspirations of an artist. Rather than spouting off facts about O'Keeffe's personal life, it explores the motivations, growth, and drive that powered one of this century's most famous painters. The overall look and tone of the book are similar to Jonah Winter's Diego (Knopf, 1994), also illustrated by Jeanette Winter. Baby Georgia is shown lying in a flattened circle of prairie grass with a wider circle of clouds around her. That bull's-eye focus on O'Keeffe never shifts-hardly any other people are mentioned or pictured. The bold and almost primitive paintings seem like windows into her perceptions. Also wonderful is the way that the woman gradually ages in the illustrations. The wording is spare and simple, but uses metaphor and imagery effectively. The first-person narrative paints a portrait, and italicized quotations are smoothly woven into the text. This book has a wonderful direct voice that is lacking in the more standard fare. Combine it with more biographical titles, photos, and reproductions of the artist's paintings for a lively, personal overview of a fascinating life.

While the text is simple, the message is suitable for children of all ages. Not just a book for budding artists, but a wonderful book for any child who has contemplated following his or her own dream instead of following the masses. The illustrations are beautiful and the book as a whole is inspiring.

Suitable for Young Children

My two year old loves this book despite the fact I am sure she doesn't understand all of the text. The pictures are bold and mirror Georgia O'Keefe's style, and each page has no more than two sentences. If I were to buy this as a gift, I would buy it for a child between the ages of 5 and 7.

Encouragement for Young Artists

This is a very encouraging book for budding young artists. The illustrations are very nice and the story of Georgia O'Keefe's life is presented in an interesting way. I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my 10-year-old niece, but after reading it I decided to give it to my 7-year-old niece instead. I think the reading level and presentation are more suitable for younger children. A bright 10-year-old would wonder why I gave her "a baby book."
